After of week of unfavorable weather, rough seas, rain and chilling temperatures, the Sunshine finally broke through the winter cold and brought us a beautiful day of diving. Finally, sunshine in the winter time.
This morning we headed out the Lake Worth Inlet in calmer seas (only 2-3 footers), a nice breeze, blue water and lots of sunshine. As we got closer to the first dive site the divers were getting ready, even before we did our dive briefing. I think everyone was eager in getting their ‘gills’ wet. The ocean welcomed us with beautiful visibility (50-60 feet), a mild current and water temperature of 72 degrees.
Our dives sites for the morning were Flower Gardens and Breaker’s Reef, which brought us many wonderful surprises: Green Morays, Spotted Morays, a Kemp Ridley Turtle, a Hawksbill Turtle, Nurse Sharks, a Goliath Grouper and many many tropical fish.
Here is just a sneak peep of the many wonderful things we saw on our dives today in this Sunshine in the winter time.
